Rod Payne - What's On Photograper
Ascending the Kuranda Range, winding through the dense tropical World Heritage listed rainforest is the first impressions for most visitors entering the scenic Atherton Tablelands from Cairns. From this moment it is obvious why this unique area attracts so many artists and photographers alike.
In 2009, Rod Payne and his wife Rosanna were enticed to the Atherton Tablelands because it is one of the most exciting and diverse regions in Australia with natural beauty, vibrant colours, prolific wildlife and the abundant flora and perfect climate. The diversity of landscapes includes geographical wonders, lush wet tropical rainforests, pristine lakes, waterfalls, wetlands and spectacular country scenes that provide a paradise for the avid photographer. Rod, being an artist, has always had keen eye for composing images that capture the light and depth of the subject. In particular he enjoys photographing equestrian sports and motor sports …but his passion is photography, in particular wildlife. Rod’s interests include travelling, music, country, nature, gardening and woodwork which he likes to link with his photography when possible. Rod believes that when photographing nature he becomes totally immersed in the peace and quiet of the moment. He hopes that his creative energy captures perfection through the lens of his camera enabling others, who have never visited this amazing region, to enjoy his images.
