November 2019 Editor’s Note

It’s that time of year again. ‘Tis the season to be jolly some might say. Others groan and dread the big Christmas shop, the mandatory work parties and the unavoidable visits with the in-laws. Whether your a Christmas lover or a scrooge to the core, this year we would like to encourage you to look after yourself, have some time out and take a look around you. We live in one of the most beautiful places in the world. While many are experiencing extreme drought we are living in the abundance of the Atherton Tablelands. Flowing waterfalls abound, the dam is full and we have plenty of shady trees to escape the strong summer sunshine. Instead of looking for what’s missing be thankful for what we have.
Remember to spend hard earned dollars carefully and consciously. When we spend money locally we are not just buying a gift for someone, we are also supporting the people in our community. We could write pages on this, but Malanda Chamber of Commerce has summarised it nicely. Check out the full article on page 6. And of course…
Enjoy What’s On!
