CYLC is holding information sessions for members of the Possum Native Title Group in relation to the proposed Possum Native Title Determination Area (as shown on the map in the event’s discussion section) within the Cape York United # 1 Claim (CYU#1 Claim). Details of the meeting are provided below:

Purpose of Meeting
The purpose of the meeting is to update members of the Possum Native Title Group on the status of the CYU#1 Claim, discuss the Boundary Identification, Negotiation and Mediation Process (BINM), review the list of apical ancestors (detailed below) and to seek the input from native title holders about what support is required from CYLC to resolve boundaries with neighbouring groups over the course of the CYU#1 Claim.
Who is invited to attend the meetings?
This meeting is open to all Possum People who are descendants by birth, or adoption in accordance with traditional law and custom, of one or more of the following apical ancestors:
1. Georgina Lee Cheu Snr
2. Dolly Palmer/Gilbert
3. Billy Coolburra Snr
4. Jim Percy
5. Louie (mother of George Meldrum, Tommy Lilley and John Karanji)
6. Maggie (mother of Jack Burton)
7. Charlie Lee Cheu
Attendance, Video-conferencing and COVID-19
Video-conferencing facilities will be made available at the meeting. If you would like CYLC to arrange a video-conference from your location into the meeting, whether you live at the location of the meeting or elsewhere, please contact CYLC on the number below.
