Created by Queensland Writers Centre (QWC) in collaboration with author and creative writing coach Dr Andrea Baldwin, Focus on Writing aims to connect writers in their local community while providing a safe space for reflection, creative expression and skill development.
The workshop is structured using the Pomodoro method: 25-minutes of writing time followed by a 5-minute break, with one longer break for chatting and connecting. Andrea will guide the group through several writing activities, including postcards.
This is a fun, non-threatening way for even inexperienced writers to express their thoughts, by responding to the image and writing prompt provided on a postcard.
Postcards completed by the group will be forwarded by QWC to writers in other parts of the state, who will be invited to respond.
