An Ants World – a look into the secret life of ants

A look into the life of ants – Ant ecology talk on native and invasive ants.

Cairns ant scientist Jules Seabright will present a talk on the ecology of ants – native and invasive species, along with samples for viewing under a microscope.

The Wet Tropics Management Authority will present a program update on the eradication of yellow crazy ants from the Wet Tropics World Heritage area and surrounds.

Biosecurity Queensland will present electric ants and provide a program update on the eradication of electric ants from the Cairns region.

The canine team will give a live demonstration of detecting yellow crazy ants through an odour detection dog.

This will be a fun and educational event with a pop quiz and prizes to test your new learnings.

All age groups are welcome.
