Editor’s Note November 2020

The end of the year is quickly approaching and there is certainly a “shop local” theme in this issue. Although supporting local business on the Tablelands is a constant focus for this magazine, there is an extra push at this time of year, as people begin to do their Christmas shopping. The Malanda Christmas Street Markets are going ahead in full force with entertainment, prizes, food and of course shopping. See all their details on page 12.
A special shoutout to Yungaburra with new businesses popping up everywhere. The Red Sheds are a creative hub with all their shops fully occupied (see back cover for all that’s on offer). Just around the corner, there is yet another creative space, Together. See their article for all the exciting happenings in this shop.
The “shop local” theme continues in Mareeba and Atherton in the Spotlight section. There are some great ideas here for supporting local businesses and we encourage all our tech savy readers to use the tags #shoptablelands and #tablelandsunite to help promote our local businesses far and wide.
A big thank you to Paul Curtis for our beautiful front cover and informative article about Station Stays across the Tablelands. As always we hope this issue encourages you to explore our beautiful Tablelands. Enjoy What’s On!
